Frankie Dettori's Biography
Frankie Dettori was born in Milan in Italy in 1970, but is best know for his achievements as a flat racing jcockey based in the UK.
Himself the son of a jockey, Frankie moved to the UK when he was just 14.
Of his numerous victories, 21 were in Classics in Britain including two in The Derby, firstly riding Authorized in 2007 and then Golden Horn in 2015.
One of his most famous exploits was his 'Magnificent Seven', when, on September 28, 1996, Frankie won all seven races in a meeting at Ascot.
In 2000 he was awarded the MBE.
In October 2023, he announced that he was postponing his planned retirement and was going to ride in the USA.
Frankie Dettori was a late arrival to I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! in 2023, and was the first celebrity to be voted out of the jungle.
His previous TV appearances included being a team captain on the BBC's A Question of Sport from 2202 to 2004.
