Grace Dent was born in Carlisle in 1973.

She studied at Stirling University, before moving to London and embarking on a career in journalism.

Grace worked as a freelancer, including writing regularly for the Guardian.

She often appeared as a pundit on popular culture shows, for example, Big Brother's Little Brother.

In 2011 she started writing a restaurant column for the Evening Standard.

In one of her articles, she described the transition from visiting Wimpy in Carlisle as a young girl to being a restaurant critic.

Grace Dent made regular appearances on various Masterchef formats and has been a judge on Great British Menu.

She left The Standard to become the restaurant critic at The Guardian and also hosts their podcast Comfort Eating, which also became a book.

She wrote Hungry: a memoir of wanting more, and has written a series of novels for teenagers under the banner Diary of a Snob.

In 2023, Grace Dent became one of the celebrities on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

However, Grace had to leave the show on medical grounds.
