Keith Chegwin, nicknamed Cheggers, was born on 17 January 1957 in Bootle.

His sister was the DJ Janice Long.

He became a popular TV presenter, whose credits included Multi-Coloured Swap Shop, Cheggers Plays Pop and Saturday Superstore.

Later in his career he returned to the small screen with credits such as the revamped It's a Knockout, broadcast in 1999 on Channel 5.

He worked for several years on GMTV.

Keith Chegwin was due to appear on Dancing on Ice in 2012, but fractured his shoulder, however the following year, he was paired with Olga Sharutenko in Dancing on Ice series 8.

They were the seventh pair to be voted off.

In January 2015, Keith Chegwin was one of the housemates on Celebrity Big Brother.

He died on 11 December 2017, aged 60,



Trivia
In an interview with The Telegraph, Chegwin's early acting career was discussed and he revealed: "Russell Grant and I worked together when we were kids. We were 14 when we did Tom Brown's Schooldays in the West End."
