Sébastien Foucan was born in France on 27 May 1974. His origins were Caribbean.

Sébastien Foucan is the founder of Freerunning, which he developed in Lisses, a suburb of Paris, and was an early practitioner of Parkour, which was founded by his friend David Belle.

Through documentaries such as Jump London and Jump Britain, Foucan and freerunning became known to a wider audience.

In the period 1994-1996, Sébastien Foucan suffered a serious injury whilst a firefighter in Paris as part of his military service. The incident helped him to formulate his philosophy and approach to life.

In 2006, Foucan performed on Madonna's Confessions on a Dance Floor tour.

His agility was on show in his role as Mollaka in the James Bond film Casino Royale.

He also helped K-Swiss launch its Ariake freerunning shoe.

In 2012, he joined ITV's Dancing on Ice, in which he was paired with Brianne Delcourt. They came joint 8th.
