Robin Johnstone was a newcomer to Dancing on Ice in series 8. She was paired with Gareth Thomas.

They reached the semi-final, but effectively came fourth when Gareth Thomas was forced to pull out due to poor health. He had been struggling with motion sickness in training for his flying routine, and, on competition day itself, the on-site medics declared him too ill to compete suspended above the ice, having completed the first routine.

Robin is a Canadian ice dancer heralding from Steinbach, Manitoba.

In 1993, Robin Johnstone won a sports excellence award from Skate Canada Manitoba. She has skated in both the Junior and Senior Canadian National Championships.

After turning professional as a skater, she ice skated with the Ice Theatre of Toronto, Paramount Canada's Wonderland and Paramount Kings Island.

In 1997, Robin Johnstone joined Feld Entertainment and her credits include playing Jane in Disney On Ice presents 3 Jungle Adventures, and playing Jasmine alongside her partner Andrew Buchanan as Aladdin.

Robin Johnstone was selected to be one of the professional ice skaters to appear in the final series of Dancing on Ice in 2014. She was paired with Joe Pasquale.
