Who is Lucy Benjamin?
Lucy Benjamin was born Lucy Baker in Reading on 25 June 1970 and went to school in Maidenhead. Her mother is from Birmingham.Lucy trained at theatre school and studied singing, dancing and acting there.
As a child Lucy Benjamin acted in Press Gang and Doctor Who.
Lucy Benjamin is best known for playing Lisa Fowler in EastEnders, which she played from 7 December 1998 to (leaving EastEnders for the second time) October 2003.
20 million viewers watched the "who shot Phil Mitchell?" episode of EastEnders in 2001, in which Lisa's character was revealed to the would-be assassin of her on-screen lover Phil Mitchell.
Mitchell was played by Steve McFadden, who also had an off-screen relationship with Lucy Benjamin, however they broke up in 2003.
In 2006, she married oil businessman, Richard Taggart.
In the same year she won X Factor: Battle Of The Stars.
Lucy has completed the London Marathon and also released a workout video / DVD called Dancercise.
In 2009, Lucy Benjamin became a contestant in I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.
In 2017, she returned to EastEnders.
