Malandra Burrows was born on 4 November 1965 in Liverpool.

Malandra Burrows has been singing and dancing since she was a toddler and appeared on ITV's children's talent show Junior Showtime. When she was just eight she appeared on the general popular talent show New Faces. Malandra was the youngest ever winner.

The precocious Malandra Burrows even won a BBC Radio Merseyside Songwriter of the Year award when she was just 13.

After drama school Malandra Burrows had a few short parts, but became famous for a very long part. At one stage she had been in Emmerdale for 17 years - the longest run of any actress on the soap.

Whilst on Emmerdale, Malandra also recorded a few songs including the hit single, Just This Side Of Love.

Malandra Burrows played Kathy Glover in Emmerdale and this Emmerdale past and present site has a lot of information on her character.

Sue Carroll of The Mirror was very critical of Malandra Burrows, saying: " ... if Malandra fancies a quick break, she takes a journey around the inside of her head. It should last at least three minutes."

The Sun had a chronology of Darren Day's relationships. Malandra Burrows is in the middle, sandwiched between Debbie Gibson and Anna Friel.

Since Emmerdale, Malandra Burrows has presented and appeared in several shows including This Morning, GMTV, The Big Breakfast, Soap Fever and Soap Addicts.

She tried fire-eating on The All Star Talent Show.

This art might have helped Malandra Burrows in the jungle, but as it turned out she was the sixth celebrity voted off I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here in 2006.

In June 2008, The Morley Observer reported how Malandra Burrows fought off a carjacker who tried to steal her car.
