Who is Matthew Wright?

Matthew Wright was born on 8 July 1965 and was brought up in Croydon, where his father worked as a store manager in Woolworths.

Before moving to television, Matthew Wright was a showbiz journalist in newspapers.

He joined The Sun in 1990 but moved to its rival the Daily Mirror.

Additionally, he helped Martine McCutcheon write her autobiography Who Does She Think She Is?

He told The Telegraph that he "used some of the money I got from that to buy a new Lotus Elise for £30,000. Two years later I sold it for £12,000."

In 2000, Wright left The Mirror and launched mykinda--place.com, however, he soon moved to Channel Five where he was given the opportunity to host a five days-a-week talk show called The Wright Stuff.

He also co-hosted Rich And Famous with Caron Keating.

He is keen on flyfishing and music, and even had a single with the band Hawkwind.

In 2000, he and his first wife got divorced. He subsequently married his second wife, Amelia.

In 2013, Matthew Wright became one of the celebrities on I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here. He was the fourth celeb to be voted out of the jungle.

In May 2018, after 18 years, Matthew Wright announced that he was leaving The Wright Stuff.

He revealed that presenting the Channel 5 show left him with symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
