Who is James Whale?

James Whale was born on 13 May 1951 in Surrey.

He has spent most of his life as a broadcaster on TV and radio.

The shockjock has had a controversial career, Most notably he was fired by TalkSport in 2008 for breaching impartiality rules after supporting Boris Johnson on-air in his campaign to be London mayor.

James Whale's career has spanned stints at several radio stations including Metro Radio in Newcastle, BBC Radio Derby, Radio Aire, and Red Rose Radio before his 13 years stint at Talksport.

After his sacking there, he was a host on LBC for four years.

At the time of entering Celebrity Big Brother in the summer of 2016, James Whale was the host of the BBC Essex breakfast show.

James was the sixth housemate to be voted out of the Big Brother house.

In August 2018, James Whale was suspended from Talk Radio after an interview with a rape victim Nichi Hodgson, which the radio station said "completely lacked sensitivity".

In August 2020, he revealed he had cancer in his kidney, spine, brain and lungs.
