Jason Plato's Biography
Jason Plato was born in Oxford on 14 October 1967.
He started karting in 1980, and then moved into cars and, in 1991, he was the European Formula Renault Champion.
In 1996, he became the Elf Renault Spider UK Cup Champion.
The following year he was offered a place in the Williams-Renault BTCC squad.
Jason Plato went on to be British Touring Car Champion in 2001 (in a Vauxhall) and 2010 (for Chevrolet).
As well as driving, Jason Plato has also had a successful broadcasting career on programmes such as Driven on Channel 4 and Fifth Gear on Channel Five.
In 2016, he became an on-screen expert on the ITV show Drive.
