JB Gill's Biography
Who is JB Gill?
Jonathan Benjamin Gill better known as JB Gill was born in Croydon on 7 December 1986.His parents herald from Antigua.
JB Gill won a scholarship to Whitgift School and then studied theology at King’s College, London University.
He was multi-talented: a strong rugby player, he also played several instruments at the Centre for Young Musicians.
JB Gill achieved the limelight as a member of JLS. They came second to Alexandra Burke in The X Factor in 2008 and went on to gain 5 number 1 singles.
After leaving JLS, he set up a farm in Kent, farming turkeys and pigs.
He also presented CBeebies’ Down On The Farm.
In 2017, JB and Chloe Gill, as she became, were partnered together on the ITV show Dance Dance Dance.
It was not the first time, JB had been on a dance entertainment show - partnered by Ola Jordan, he won the Christmas Special of Strictly Come Dancing in 2012.
In August 2017, JB Gill joined the presenting team of BBC One's Songs of Praise.
In December 2018, he hosted the South East of England edition of a one-off documentary on BBC One called River Walks.
In 2024, he became one of the celebrities on Strictly Come Dancing. He was partnered by Amy Dowden.
However, in the middle of the series, Amy was injured and Lauren Oakley took over as JB's partner.
They ended up reaching the final and although they joint-topped the judges' leaderboard with an incredible 119 points out of 120, the winners, through the public vote, were Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell.
