Jonathon Porritt's Biography
Jonathon Porritt worked for many years in non-governmental organisations, notably those connected to environmental issues, such as Friends of the Earth and Forum for the Future.
He was born in London in 1950, the son of Lord Porritt, a governor of New Zealand and Olympic sprinter.
He studied at Eton and Magdalen College, Oxford.
From 2000 to 2009 Jonathon Porritt was Chairman of the UK Sustainable Development Commission.
