Kimberley Chambers was born in 1967, the only child of Val and Tom, and was brought up in Dagenham in east London.

She left school at 16 with just a couple of CSEs.

Kimberley refers to herself as being a bit of a 'scallywag' when she was young. At 15 she was charged with being drunk and disorderly.

She started off being a market trader in Roman Road market in the East End, and then had a spell as a DJ, before working as a mini-cab driver in Romford.

It was at 38, whilst mini-cabbing (and fed up with it) that she started writing a novel that would be her debut book, Billie Jo.

It was to be the first of several books revolving around East End crime.

Kimberley Chambers has written a series of books (The Feud, The Traitor and The Victim) around the Mitchells and O'Haras, and another series around the Butlers (The Trap, Payback, The Wronged).

Her other books apart from Billie Jo include Born Evil, The Betrayer, The Schemer, and Tainted Love.
