Laura Tobin's Biography
Laura Tobin was born in Northampton on 10 October 1981.
At just 14, she set her heart on being a weather forecaster.
She found out which GCSEs and A-levels she needed for that career path, and later studied physics and meteorology at the University of Reading, where she met her husband-to-be Dean Brown. They married in 2000.
Laura Tobin got a job at Cardiff weather centre, providing weather forecasts for the likes of energy companies and local radio, and she also had spells at RAF bases, including RAF Brize Norton.
In 2007 Laura Tobin joined the BBC weather centre as a broadcast meteorologist. She did not particularly want to appear on camera, but relished the opportunity when it cropped up due to her providing maternity cover.
She ended up presenting the weather on various BBC shows such as the news and Countryfile, before becoming the meteorologist and weather forecaster at Daybreak in 2012.
In 2016, Laura Tobin became one of the celebrities on the ITV show Drive.
The previous year, she had made her track driving debut at Brands Hatch in a lesson on how to drive like James Bond with stunt driver Ben Collins.
