Lee Banfield was a 67 year old Pastor at an independent church near Bolton, when he became a contestant on The Great British Bake Off series 7.
Before working in various pastoral ministries, he used to be a builder but changed his vocation after studying theology in the 1980s.
At the time of Bake Off, he was a Pastor at Cornerstone Church and their website made some of Lee Banfield's sermons available.
Rev. Lee Banfield started baking in 1984 when he injured his back playing cricket with his son.
He likes traditional flavours such as cherry, hazelnut, vanilla and chocolate.
He specialises in meringue and pavlova, and is known to make a mean wedding cake!
