Who is Louise Minchin?
Louise Minchin was born on 8 September 1968 in Hong Kong, where she lived until she was 5.Her father was as a major in the Irish Guards.
After Hong Kong, her childhood was spent in Hampshire and London.
She studied Spanish at The University of St Andrews.
When she left university she went to Argentina and Chile for a year with Raleigh International.
She trained as a radio journalist at The London College of Printing and began her broadcasting career in the Latin American Section of the BBC World Service.
Subsequently she had spells on the Today Programme and as a radio reporter for BBC Radio Berkshire and Fox FM in Oxford, and, as a presenter, for News Direct 97.3 FM.
Louise Minchin's first television role was working for Channel 5's entertainment programme Exclusive, and also Five News.
In 1998 she presented on BBC News 24 on television and BBC Five Live on radio.
She also co-hosted In The Know with Jon Inverdale.
Outside of news, she has guest hosted The One Show and hosted Missing Live, Real Rescues and Crime and Punishment.
She was also a regular presenter of the BBC News at One.
However, she is best known for co-presenting BBC Breakfast on BBC One.
In 2015 Louise Minchin competed at the ITU World Triathlon Championships.
In 2016, she became one of the contestants on Celebrity Masterchef.
In 2021, she became one of the contestants on I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.
