Mike Bushell's Biography
In his past, sports broadcaster Mike Bushell has represented Hertfordshire at Chess and, as a teenager, run 175 miles in 6 days for charity.
He went to the National Youth Theatre and was originally interested in a career in acting, however he moved into journalism.
Mike Bushell wrote for various local newspapers before becoming a reporter with BBC Radio Solent in 1990.
He then started broadcasting on BBC South and BBC News 24 (as it then was).
Since 2006, Mike Bushell has presented sports bulletins on BBC Breakfast.He has profiled and taken part in nearly 400 different sports and activities during his stint on Breakfast.
He also holds the world record for crossing one mile of water in a large inflatable ball (known as a zorb or waterwalker) in 1 hour 57 seconds, which he did for Comic Relief.
In 2019, Mike Bushell became one of the celebrities on Strictly Come Dancing.
He was paired with Katya Jones. They were the seventh couple to be eliminated.
