Who is Saoirse-Monica Jackson?

She came to widespread public attention for playing Erin Quinn in the popular TV series Derry Girls, set at the time of The Troubles in Northern Ireland.

Saoirse-Monica Jackson is from Derry herself but is about 8 years older than her character in Derry Girls.

She was brought up in Derry and Donegal, where her parents owned a hotel.

Saoirse-Monica studied at St Cecilia's College in Derry and at the Arden School of Theatre in Manchester.

Before Derry Girls, her acting credits included The Five on Sky and Broken on ITV.

Her stage performances include acting in Jez Butterworth and Sam Mendes’s production of The Ferryman.
