The late Sir Michael Grylls was born on 21 February 1934 in Folkestone, Kent.

Michael Grylls was a right-wing Conservative MP who had a very close relationship with lobbyist Ian Greer.

Sir Michael Grylls was the father of explorer and broadcaster, (Edward) Bear Grylls, and of a daughter Lara.

Michael Grylls was an ex-Marine commando and was the son of Brigadier WEH Grylls OBE.

Michael Grylls was Chairman of the Conservative MPs' Trade and Industry Committee and was first elected to parliament when voted MP for Chertsey in 1970.
