Avril Lavigne's Biography
At sixteen Avril Lavigne signed to Arista Records and left Canada for New York. From their she moved to L.A. and in 2002 she released her debut album, Let Go. It sold over 15 million copies and spawned singles like Sk8ter Boi, Complicated an I'm With You.
In May 2004, Avril Lavigne followed up with Under My Skin, which included the single My Happy Ending.
In July 2006 Avril Lavigne married Sum 41's Deryck Whibley.
Avril Lavigne is the voice of Heather in the animation, Over The Hedge.
In Avril Lavigne's official site, she acknowledged the importance of fellow Canadian singer-songwriter Chantal Kreviazuk in creating Under My Skin: "We got together one night and all of a sudden we had a song ... No one knew what I was up to, not my management, not my label ...We did that for two weeks and wrote 12 songs."
