Ryan Sheckler Facts
Ryan Sheckler, from San Clemente, was born on 30 December 1989 in La Palma, California.
Ryan started competing in skateboard events in 1997. That year, he won on his first appearance at the California Amateur Skateboard League (CASL) State Championship.
At just 13, Ryan became a pro skateboarder after coming 5th at the Globe World Cup in Australia.
Ryan won Slam City in 2003 in his first year as a pro skateboarder. He also had wins at the Gravity Games, Vans Triple Crown, the Dew Action Sports Tour, and X Games.
In 2004, Sheckler broke his right arm and left elbow, however it did not prevent his brilliant performances and in the same year he was nominated for Alternative Sportsman of the Year in the Laureus World Sports Awards.

Already no stranger to the media, in August 2007 Ryan Sheckler was given further prominence by MTV's Life of Ryan.
Ryan created the Shecklair, a combination kickflip and stiffy.
