Who is Rory Bremner?
Rory Bremner was born in Edinburgh in 1961, the second son of Major Donald Stuart Ogilvy Bremner and Ann Simpson.Rory was 18 when his father died, and he discovered his father's wartime heroics, through the BBC genealogy series Who Do You Think You Are?
Rory Bremner was a success as an impressionist at the Edinburgh Festival and he was given his own series Now Something Else by the BBC in 1986.
He stayed with the BBC for several years before switching to Channel 4 in 1993, where he fronted Rory Bremner - Who Else?
That show and the follow-up Bremner Bird and Fortune became well known for their satirical and political content.
From 1987 to 1995 Rory Bremner was married to Susan Shackleton, a teacher.
In 1999 he married Tessa Campbell Fraser.
Bremner speaks French, German and Spanish, and amongst his accomplishments is translating Orpheus in the Underworld by Offenbach.
In 2011, Rory Bremner was paired with Erin Boag in Strictly Come Dancing.
They were the third couple to be voted off.
