Anton du Beke's Biography

Who is Anton du Beke?

Anton du Beke was born on July 20, 1966 in Kent.

His father was Hungarian and his mother was from Galicia in the north of Spain.

Anton du Beke was the professional dance partner of Erin Boag.

After turning professional in 2002, their first competition saw them coming third at the British National Dance Championships in Blackpool.

Anton du Beke was IDTA Classic Champion 2003.

His favourite dance is the foxtrot, whilst his least favourite is the samba.

When asked if he had any vices, Anton told the Guardian weekend magazine "I'd love to cut down on women". Anton du Beke also told the Guardian that "Dancers never receive the credit they deserve".

Together with Erin Boag and Alan Harding, Anton was a choreographer for the stage show Simply Ballroom.

Anton du Beke enjoys golf and often partners Len Goodman. Nobody has yet analysed Len's voting record on Anton's performances in Strictly Come Dancing!

In 2008, ITV announced that Anton du Beke will teach the recruits and his former Strictly Come Dancing partner Kate Garraway a dance routine on Inch-Loss Island on GMTV.

In the summer of 2008, Anton du Beke was scheduled to be presenter of a new BBC Two cookery series Step Up To The Plate.

In 2009, Anton du Beke and Erin Boag trained school children in dancing in Sky's Strictly High School.

In June 2009, the BBC revealed that Anton Du Beke would take over from Dale Winton in the autumn as host of game show Hole In The Wall.

In November 2016, it was revealed that Anton Du Beke was expecting twins with his girlfriend Hannah Summers.

Anton du Beke and Hannah Summers married in May 2017, having had twins in March.

In November 2017, he released his debut album as a singer called From The Top.

In 2019, he added another string to his bow when he released the novel One Enchanted Evening.

In 2023, he and Giovanni Pernice made the three part travelogue series for BBC One, Anton and Giovanni's Adeventures in Sicily.

In 2023, he told Kate Garraway on ITV's Life Stories, that he was stabbed by his father, who was an alcoholic.

In 2024, Anton and Giovanni teamed up again, this time in the BBC series Anton and Giovanni's Adventures in Spain.

Strictly Come Dancing as a Professional Dancer

In 2020, Anton du Beke was paired with Jacqui Smith. They were the first couple to be voted off. Anton then filled in as a judge on part of the series when Motsi Mabuse had to self-isolate.

In 2019, Anton was paired with Emma Barton. They made it to the final and came joint runners-up.

In 2018, he was partnered by Susannah Constantine.They were the first couple to be voted off.

In 2017 he was paired with Ruth Langsford. They were the seventh couple to be eliminated.

In 2016 Anton was partnered by Lesley Joseph. They were the fourth couple to be voted off.

In 2015, Anton du Beke and Katie Derham came fourth in series 13.

In series 12 of Strictly he partnered Judy Murray. They came ninth.

In 2013, Anton du Beke was paired with Fiona Fullerton. Anton and Fiona were the seventh couple to be voted off.

In 2012, he was paired with Jerry Hall in Strictly Come Dancing series 10. They were the second couple to be eliminated.

In 2011, Anton du Beke partnered Nancy Dell'Olio in Strictly Come Dancing. They were the fourth couple to be voted off.

In series 8 of Strictly Come Dancing, Anton du Beke was paired with Ann Widdecombe.

In spite of very low scores from the judges, Anton and Ann survived until they were the ninth couple to voted off.

In series 7 of Strictly Come Dancing, Anton du Beke partnered Laila Rouass. They came fourth.

In series 6 of Strictly Come Dancing, Anton du Beke partnered Gillian Taylforth. However, they were voted off the series early on, in week two.

In series five of Strictly Come Dancing, Anton du Beke danced with Kate Garraway.

The couple did not get good scores from the judges, but were kept in by the public until on 18 November 2007, they were the seventh couple to be eliminated.

Anton du Beke, who partnered Patsy Palmer in Strictly Come Dancing series 3, partnered Jan Ravens in series 4 and they went out in the fifth round.

In series 2, he partnered Esther Rantzen. they came eighth.

In the first series of Strictly, Anton du Beke and Lesley Garrett came third.
