Jay McGuiness's Biography

Jay McGuiness was born on 24 July 1990 and comes from Newark in Nottinghamshire.

He was one fifth of boy band The Wanted, who released three albums. The other members included Max George, Tom Parker, Siva Kaneswaran, and Nathan Sykes.

The Wanted's first No.1 UK single was All Time Low, from their debut album The Wanted.

Their second album, Battleground included Glad You Came, which reached number 1 in the UK and number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the USA.

The Wanted also had their own reality series on E! entitled The Wanted Life.

The group supported Justin Bieber and Britney Spears.

In 2015, Jay McGuiness won Strictly Come Dancing. He was partnered by Aliona Vilani.

In 2019, Jay McGuiness, Harry Judd, Aston Merrygold and Louis Smith starred in the stage show Rip It Up.

In 2021 The Wanted reunited after Tom Parker was diagnosed with a brain tumour. They released a greatest hits album and performed on tour.

After Tom Parker died, they released a new version of Gold Forever, entitled 'Gold Forever (For Tom)' with all the proceeds going to The Brain Tumour Charity.
