Who is Daniel O'Donnell?

He was six years old when his father died from a heart attack.

Daniel O’Donnell's first solos records were recorded on 9 February 1983, when he recorded ‘My Donegal Shore’, ‘Stand Beside Me’, ‘London Leaves’ and ‘Married By The Bible’. In his official website he wrote: "It was certainly humble beginnings because I sold every one of those records myself."

His fame grew, however, and in 2012, he became the first musician to have a different album in the British charts every year for 25 consecutive years.

He has sold over 15 million albums.

On 4 November 2002, Daniel O’Donnell married Majella McLennan.

In 2015, he became one of the celebrities on Strictly Come Dancing.

They were the third pair to be voted off.
