Rachel Riley's Biography

Rachel Riley shot to prominence from not being on the public's radar when, in January 2009, she was brought in to take over from Carol Vorderman as the arithmetic expert on Countdown. She was selected from over 1,000 applicants

In June 2013, Rachel Riley became a presenter on the Channel 5 programme The Gadget Show.

Before Countdown, Rachel Riley had studied maths at Oxford University and had become a data analyst.

In August 2012, she married Jamie Gilbert, a computer tycoon, whom she met while studying at Oxford, however, just over a year later it was reported that they had separated.

In 2013, Rachel Riley became one of the celebrities on Strictly Come Dancing.

Rachel was paired with Pasha Kovalev.

Rachel and Pasha were the fifth pair to be voted off Strictly series 11.

Rachel and Pasha started going out together.

In August 2016, it was revealed that Rachel Riley was joining Sky Sports to co-host Friday Night Football with her former Countdown colleague Jeff Stelling, and also Fantasy Football Club with Max Rushden and Paul Merson.

In May 2019, it was revealed that Rachel Riley and Pasha Kovalev were expecting a baby.

They married in Las Vegas at the end of May 2019.

In December 2019, Rachel Riley gave birth to a daughter Maven.
