The BBC scheduled series 12 of The Apprentice to start on Thursday 6 October 2016.

The show would air on Thursdays (at 9pm) for the first time.

As with the previous year, it would feature Lord Sugar aided by Baroness Karren Brady and Claude Littner.

18 new candidates would compete for Lord Sugar to invest £250k in their business plan.

The Apprentice series 12's production team includes Cal Turner and Tom Garland as Executive Producers; and Claire Walls and Paul Broadbent as Series Editors.

With regard to the BBC Two spin-off show, on 16 September 2016, the BBC revealed that Rhod Gilbert would host The Apprentice You're Fired and The Apprentice You're Hired.

The 11 x 30’ (You’re Fired) and 1 x 60’ (You’re Hired) shows would be series produced by Amanda Sangorski and executive produced by Cal Turner.
