Early Life

George Clarke was born in Sunderland on 27 May 1974.

He studied at Newcastle University and then University College London.

George Clark's architectural career

George Clarke was creative director of the architectural practice and design company, clarke: desai, which he founded with Bobby Desai.

He then set up Clarke + Partners in 2011.

George Clarke has taught architecture and design at post-graduate level in schools of architecture including the School of Architecture and the Built Environment at Nottingham University.

George Clarke was on the judging panel of the Affordable Home Ownership Housing Awards 2007.

Television Appearances

Until 2008, George Clarke was Channel Five's resident architect and property expert and presented shows such as Property Dreams, A Dream Home Abroad and Build A New Life In The Country.

To accompany the Channel Five series there was a book, Build a New Life, written by George Clarke, which gave advice on how to make a dream home a reality.

In 2008, Channel 4 signed George Clarke, to present a variety of property formats including Restoration Man, where he travels Britain helping owners convert old properties.

In November 2008, George Clarke started presenting the Channel Four series The Home Show.

Family Life

In 2013, he and his wife Catriona Clarke divorced. They had three children.
