Eva Longoria's Biography

Eva Longoria was born on 15th March, 1975, in Texas.

She was the youngest of four daughters and was nicknamed "la prieta fea" (ugly duckling).

Eva Longoria is most famous for playing Gabrielle Solis in the popular and critically-acclaimed American drama Desperate Housewives.

After landing roles on The Bold and the Beautiful, General Hospital and Beverly Hills 90210, she progressed to more significant parts in The Young and the Restless and L.A. Dragnet.

2004 was the year when Eva Longoria entered stardom. Desperate Housewives became massively successful and alongside Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman and Marcia Cross, Eva Longoria was one of the stars.

When Desperate Housewives launched, Longoria made a general point about the lack of good parts for actresses:

"As a female, you're either the wife of the male lead, the girlfriend of the lead, the daughter of the male lead: you're usually always the co-star. Not here. Every woman in Hollywood wanted to work on this project."

A year later, the equally successful second series of Desperate Housewives came out and Longoria also appeared in films like The Dead Will Tell, Carlita's Secret and Harsh Times.

In 2006, Eva Longoria starred alongside Michael Douglas and Kiefer Sutherland in The Sentinel.

Longoria was married to General Hospital star Tyler Cristopher from 2002-05 (Longoria briefly acted in the soap).

She went on to date and then marry the NBA basketball star Tony Parker.

Eva Longoria and Tony Parker set their wedding day for July 7, 2007. The couple married in Paris and there were only a few guests at the ceremony, including footballer Thierry Henry.

In 2008, Eva Longoria Parker's film credits included starring in Over Her Dead Body.

Eva Longoria Parker came third in FHM's list of the 100 sexiest women 2007.

Eva Longoria Parker was voted favourite female TV star at the 33rd annual People's Choice Awards.

In March 2011, People magazine published an article about Eva Longoria, who had split up from Tony Parker, and her new partner Eduardo Cruz, the brother of Penelope Cruz.

She did split from Tony Parker, but, in 2016, she married José Antonio Bastón.

In 2017, she was cast as Margot Beste-­Chetwynde in BBC One's comedy drama Decline And Fall.

In 2023, BBC Factual acquired Eva Longoria: Searching for Mexico, a six-part series produced by RAW and CNN Original Series.
