Who is Alok Jha?

Alok Jha gained a degree in physics at Imperial College London and then an MSc in Science Communication in 1999.

He worked as a reporter at the science policy magazine Research Fortnight before joining The Guardian as a reporter in 2003. 

In September 2014, Alok Jha took over from Lawrence McGinty as science correspondent at ITV News.

He has also made programmes for the BBC including being an expert on Dara O'Briain's Science Club.

Jha has also presented the three-part BBC series Storm Troupers: the Fight to Forecast the Weather.

Alok Jha's books include The Doomsday Handbook – 50 Ways to the End of the World; How to Live Forever and 34 Really Interesting Uses of Science; and The Water Book.
