David Ornstein's Biography

Who is David Ornstein?

He is a football correspondent at The Athletic. He is also a regular on The Athletic's Football Podcast hosted by Mark Chapman.

David Ornstein joined The Athletic in October 2019 after twelve years as a sports journalist at the BBC.

Before that, he had a brief stint freelancing with articles for The Standard and The Sunday Telegraph.

David Ornstein had initially entered the world of sports journalism via being a trainee at The Guardian from 2006 to 2007.

This article, Pardew's transfer pot nearly empty as he plots Charlton's escape, is an example of Ornstein's writing at that time.

Prior to that, he studied journalism at Bournemouth University.

He has a huge Twitter following - it was well over 1.8 million as at March 2023.
