Who is Russell Brand?
Until 2007, Russell Brand presented Big Brother's Big Mouth.In April 2007, announcing his retirement from the show, Russell Brand said: "the three years I've spent on Big Brother's Big Mouth have been an unprecedented joy."
As well as Big Brother's Big Mouth, Brand has also presented Kings Of Comedy on E4.
In 2004, Channel Four transmitted The Russell Brand, and in 2006 MTV transmitted 1 Leicester Square presented by Brand.
Russell Brand was arrested for stripping at the 2003 May Day protest in London.
According to The Telegraph of November 3, 2006, Russell Brand has been arrested 11 times and was once sacked from MTV for dressing up as Osama Bin Laden.
In September 2006, E4 started broadcasting Russell Brand's Got Issues. The audience was lower than expected considering that, at Edinburgh, his live show was a sell-out.
Nevertheless, in November 2006, Channel 4 decided to schedule a new show, The Russell Brand Show, on Channel 4 itself, in the slot opposite BBC1's Friday Night with Jonathan Ross.
It coincided with the news that Russell Brand was to present a new show on BBC Radio 2 after the success of his digital BBC 6 Music show.
In 2007, Russell Brand was voted the eight most stylish man by GQ at the same time as being judged the worst dressed.
In February 2007, Russell Brand played a druggy DJ, Terry, in ITV's sitcom, The Abbey, which also featured Omid Djalili as Tony.
In June 2007, the BBC reported that Russell Brand accepted substantial damages from the Daily Star over claims a girl was drugged and raped during a party at his flat during the Edinburgh Festival.
In 2007 Russell Brand released his autobiography, My Booky Wooky. In the same year he starred as Flash Harry in St. Trinian's.
In 2008, Russell Brand played a sex-obsessed rock star in the film Forgetting Sarah Marshall.
In October 2008, the BBC suspended Jonathan Ross and Russell Brand pending an investigation into their prank calls made on Radio 2.
It was in response to telephone calls made by Brand and Ross to Andrew Sachs, best known as Manuel in Fawlty Towers, about his grand-daughter Georgina Baillie.
Shortly afterwards, Russell Brand resigned from Radio 2.
On 31 December 2009, Russell Brand got engaged to Katy Perry. They got married on 23 October 2010.
In 2010 Russell Brand starred in Get Him To The Greek as rock star Aldous Snow, whom he had originally played in Forgetting Sarah Marshall.
In 2011, Russell Brand established Branded Films, a film production company, based in Hollywood.
In December 2011, Russell Brand announced that he had filed for divorce from Katy Perry.
In 2016, Russell Brand's wife to be Laura Gallacher gave birth to a baby girl.
In 2017, he wrote Recovery: Freedom From Our Addictions.
In September 2023, the BBC and Channel 4 said they were investigating after allegations were made that Russell Brand sexually assaulted four women.
