Danny DeVito's Biography
Danny DeVito was born in New Jersey in 1944.
DeVito is reportedly 5' tall. A fact that allowed him to be cast in roles such as The Penguin in Batman Returns.
Danny DeVito worked as a hairdresser in his sister's beauty parlour before studying at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York.
Although Danny DeVito had previously acted in films, for example, in the highly acclaimed movie, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, he really came to prominence with his role as Louis in television comedy, Taxi.
In 1982 Danny DeVito married Rhea Perlman, of Cheers fame.
Some of his most notable performances were in Throw Momma From the Train (1987), Ruthless People (1986), The Rainmaker (1997), L.A. Confidential (1997), Tin Men (1987) and Twins (1988).
As well as acting Danny DeVito has directed such films as The War of the Roses and Hoffa, and his company, Jersey Films has produced notable films, for example, Pulp Fiction and Erin Brockovich.
In 2012, Danny DeVito was cast alongside Richard Griffiths in The Sunshine Boys at London's Savoy Theatre.
In the same year he provided the voiceover for the title character in Dr. Seuss' The Lorax.
DeVito has also had the recurring role of Frank Reynolds in the sitcom It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
