Kylie Minogue was born on 28 May 1968 in Melbourne, Australia.

She was a child actress in Skyways, The Sullivans and The Henderson Kids before leaving school at 17 and acting as Charlene in the soap, Neighbours.

In March 2005, Radio Times readers voted the 1988 wedding of Scott Robinson, played by Jason Donovan and Charlene Mitchell, played by Kylie Minogue as the best-on screen wedding ever. It was Neighbours' highest-ever rating episode.

Kylie Minogue then launched a successful pop career in the late eighties with singles like I Should Be So Lucky, Got To Be Certain, Loco-motion and Hand on Your Heart.

In the 1990s, Kylie changed her image and moved from Stock, Aitken And Waterman's PWL to the dance label Deconstruction. One way to see the transformation in Kylie over the years is to follow Kylie's life in pictures from the BBC.

Kylie Minogue's boyfriends have included Jason Donovan, Michael Hutchence, and James Gooding.

According to Kylie Minogue's official website, which has a very detailed biography:

"In June of 1991, after the release of her 13th hit single, entitled Shocked, the British industry "bible" Music Week magazine declared that Kylie was the ONLY act in the history of the British pop music to have their first 13 releases all go Top 10. Kylie now has 30 consecutive U.K. hits, none of which failed to peak in the Top 20, 20 in the Top 10!"

In May 2005, it was announced that Kylie Minogue had breast cancer and she had to cancel the Australian leg of her 'Showgirl' tour. By that stage, Kylie had already amassed 37 hit singles in the UK.

By the end of December 2005, Kylie Minogue had finished her chemotherapy course, continuing to receive other treatments to prevent a recurrence of the cancer.

Kylie conducted an interview with Cat Deeley on Sky in July 2006.

In Kylie: The Interview, the star revealed her first reaction to the diagnosis of cancer was: "No, I'm getting on a plane" to continue her tour.

Kylie Minogue resumed her Showgirl tour in Sydney in November 2006.

The documentary, White Diamond, directed by Kylie's friend William Baker, shows what happened behind the scenes of the Showgirl tour.

Kylie's sister, Dannii Minogue is also a singer and actress.

Kylie has written a children's book, The Showgirl Princess.

Kylie Minogue came first in Glamour's list of best dressed women.

In February 2007, Kylie and her boyfriend of four years, Olivier Martinez, announced that they had split up.

In November 2007, Kylie Minogue announced a 24-date European tour in May and June 2008 branded KylieX2008.

Kylie Minogue came 8th in Channel 4's 100 Greatest Sex Symbols.

On 29 December 2007, Kylie Minogue was awarded the OBE for services to music in the New Year honours list. Kylie collected the OBE on 3 July 2008.

In February 2016, she announced her engagement to Joshua Sasse.

However, in February 2017, it was reported that Kylie and Joshua Sasse had broken up.

In June 2019, Kylie Minogue appeared on Glastonbury's Pyramid Stage.

In November 2020, Kylie Minogue became the first female artist to have a number one album in the UK in five separate decades.

Additionally, her album, Disco, topped the charts with 55,000 sales, meaning it gained the best opening week of any new release in 2020 thus far.

In 2023, she played a set to close Radio 2 in the Park in Leicester.

In 2024, Kylie won a Grammy Award for best pop dance recording for Padam Padam. It was awarded two decades after her first Grammy!
