Ashlee Simpson-Wentz's Biography
At 11, Ashlee Simpson was the youngest person ever admitted to the School of American Ballet.
Her acting appearances include being a regular on the TV series Seventh Heaven and a role in the comedy The Hot Chick.
On 23 October 2004 Ashlee Simpson was caught lip-syncing on Saturday Night Live, however many people came forward to reveal that lip-syncing is amazingly common.
When her first Saturday Night Live Appearance had taken place, Ashlee Simpson wrote in her diary on the official Ashlee Simpson website:
"I have decided to speak openly and honestly about what happened on snl because I want you guys to know what really happened. My acid reflux started acting up and I know my real fans know that music and performing is my true passion and you support me for that....I couldn't control what happened that day."
To her credit, in October 2005, Ashlee Simpson went back on SNL and performed two songs live including Catch Me When I Fall - a song, which was prompted by her first appearance.
Ashlee Simpson has sold nearly 6 million albums. In 2006 she played Roxie Hart in Chicago in the Cambridge Theatre in London.
Asked by Metro: "You were recently caught on camera drunk and mouthing off at a McDonald's. What happened?", Ashlee Simpson replied, "We all have our silly moments where we goof off and make asses of ourselves. I work hard and I play hard. It is difficult when a camera suddenly comes out."
In April 2008, it was announced that Ashlee Simpson had got engaged to boyfriend Pete Wentz, the Fall Out Boy bassist.
April 2008 was also to see the release of Ashlee Simpson's new album Bittersweet World.
The BBC reviewer of Ashlee Simpson's Bittersweet wrote: "On her new album, Bittersweet World, she takes a step forward - ditching the Avril Lavigne-lite sound of her first two records to work with producers du jour Timbaland ("a genius") and The Neptunes ("he's unbelievable")."

Soon afterwards Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz finally confirmed they were expecting a baby after initially issuing denials.
In November 2008, Ashlee Simpson gave birth to a baby boy, Bronx Mowgli Wentz.
In 2009, credited as Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, she was cast as Violet in the new version of Melrose Place.
