Who is Jodie Whittaker?
Jodie Whittaker was born just outside Huddersfield on 3 June 1982.Her father had a business supplying protective film for windows.
Jodie Whittaker graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
Her big breakthrough was being cast, opposite Peter O'Toole, as Lolita Jessie in Venus, the film of Hanif Kureishi's book.
Since then she has amassed numerous credits in film, television and theatre.
Her TV credits include Trust Me, Broadchurch, Black Mirror, and The Night Watch.
In July 2017, the BBC revealed that Jodie Whittaker would be the new Doctor Who.
She became the 13th actor and the first woman to play the cult character.
In 2020, she was one of the celebrities featured on the BBC's One's Who Do You Think You Are?
In 2022, she made her last appearance as Doctor Who.
In 2023, she was cast in the second season of Jimmy McGovern's drama series Time.
In 2024, Paramount + cancelled various programming including One Night, which featured Jodie Whittaker.
