Martin Lutyens's Biography
Martin Lutyens was born in Kolkata in India in February 1936. He grew up in England and went to Eton.
After military service and a stint working in the City whilst serving as a barman at the Royal Court Theatre club, Martin worked for 35 years with a major international consulting firm.
He spent 25 years as Chairman of The Lutyens Trust in the UK.
He was also a Chairman of The Lutyens Trust America.
Both trusts revolve around preserving the 'spirit and substance' of the work of Sir Edwin Lutyens OM, who was Martin's great-uncle.
Martin has also been a trustee of Glyndebourne, and Chairman of the Sir John Soane’s Museum Society.
