Chris Moneymaker's Biography
Having gained an accounting degree at the University of Tennessee, Chris Moneymaker became an accountant for a restaurant in Nashville. In Spring 2003 Chris Moneymaker won a $39 satellite tournament, which gave him an entry to a larger tournament on PokerStars, which Moneymaker also won. That gave him the seat at the World Series of Poker (WSOP).
To everyone's surprise, the novice Chris Moneymaker won the great WSOP tournament, beating Sammy Farha heads up.
According to Shirley Rosario in an interview with Cool Player magazine:
"Chris Moneymaker is one of my favourite players because he is so down to earth."
His book, Poker Champion Moneymaker is an amusing and interesting account of how Moneymaker turned his $40 dollars into $2.5 million.
