Katia Lannon's Biography
Katia Lannon, who is part of the strong Sale's women's team, was born in Ibiza.
Katia was Sale's young female athlete of 2004, as well as the Northern combined events champion and in 2006 became AAA indoor pentathlon champion.
Widely regarded as one of GB's brightest athletics prospects Katia Lannon will need to overcome cash problems before she can strike heptathlon gold at the 2012 London Olympics.
As well as her heptathlon training and her studying at Stockport College, Katia works part time at Belle Vue greyhound stadium to raise funds.
At the 2002 Commonwealth Games held in Manchester, Katia Lannon was a kit carrier for Kelly Holmes and Colin Jackson.
Getting caught up in the excitement of the event was a key factor in persuading her to turn away from dancing and stage school and towards athletics.
Lannon has been making consistent progress ever since.
