Colin Salmon's Biography
Before establishing himself as an actor, Colin Salmon was a keen musician and an accomplished trumpeter.
His tastes ranged from Earth Wind & Fire to The Clash, he liked English folk songs on the one hand, and The Sugarcubes on the other hand, as well as performing the likes of Summertime on his trumpet in cafes in west London's Portobello Road.
Colin Salmon's early TV acting credits included Soldier Soldier and the part of DS Robert Oswalde in Prime Suspect 2.
His numerous other credits included Judge John Deed, Shine on Harvey Moon, and Bad Girls.
His film credits include playing MI6 agent, M's assistant, Charles Robinson in three James Bond movies: Die Another Day, Tomorrow Never Dies and The World Is Not Enough.
He once featured in People magazine's list of 50 Most Beautiful People in the world.
Colin Salmon is married to the artist Fiona Hawthorne.
In 2012, he was paired with Kristina Rihanoff in Strictly Come Dancing series 10. They were the fourth couple to be eliminated.
In March 2023, the BBC announced that Colin Salmon would be playing George Knight in EastEnders.
