Victoria Beckham's Biography

Victoria Beckham was born Victoria Adams in Hertfordshire on 17 April 1974.

Victoria came from an affluent background and her father Tony used to drive her to school in a Rolls-Royce, although more often than not Victoria would be dropped off by her mother in a Renault.

When she was eight she went to the Jason Theatre School in Hoddesdon. At 17, she started going to the Laine Arts Theatre College in Epsom, Surrey.

Victoria Beckham enjoyed huge success as Posh Spice in the girl band, The Spice Girls. Their first single, Wannabe and their debut album, Spice, were smash hits.

Wannabe reached number one in over 30 countries and topped the UK chart for seven weeks.

The Spice Girls were to have five successful years, but rifts started to occur and Geri Halliwell left the group in May 1998.

After that, The Spice Girls were on a downward slide and Forever, which came out in 2000 was relatively unsuccessful and it was not long before the band split up.

On 4 March 1999 Victoria gave birth to her first son, Brooklyn and she and David Beckham married in Luttrellstown Castle in Ireland four months later.

Victoria Beckham then launched a solo pop career. It did not emulate the success of the Spice Girls and her album, VB only sold about 50,000 copies.

The single, Not Such An Innocent Girl reached number six, but Collaboration sold only about 15,000 copies.

David and Victoria Beckham had their second son, Romeo James Beckham, who was born on 1 September 2002.

Victoria's return to her solo career went better and she reached number three in the UK with This Groove/Let Your Head Go in January 2004, however she indicated that she intended to focus on her family.

A third son, Cruz Beckham followed in February 2005.

Victoria Beckham has "DB" tattooed on her wrist, and a tattoo in Hebrew running down her back.

She has written an autobiography called 'Learning to Fly' and in 2006 she got involved in several other projects, including another book, 'That Extra Half An Inch' and DVB Style.

In 2008, she launched a fashion label.

In July 2011, Victoria Beckham gave birth to a daughter Harper Seven.

In December 2016, Victoria Beckham was awarded an OBE in the New Year Honours list.

In 2019, the BBC reported that her fashion business Victoria Beckham Limited, which had not made a profit since it launched in 2008, had reported a loss of £12.3m for 2018.
