Anupama Verma's Biography
Anupama Verma, who has ambitions to run her own business, has got an MBA in marketing and finance from FMS, Delhi.
Indbazaar Fashion reported on how she was discovered by photographer Shantanu Sheorey:
"She was video tested by him when she was still only in the ninth standard. She recounts, 'Shantanu had come to Delhi looking for a model for a Digjam shoot. A common friend introduced me to him. He video-tested me, liked me and chose me to model opposite Shekhar Kapur.'
"Her first campaign was Digjam Suiting where she modelled with none other than Shekhar Kapur. Her other ad campaigns include Fair and Lovely, Siyaram, Harry's collections, Pantene, Lipton & Monte Carlo."
After appearing in Biddu's video Boom Boom, Anupama Verma had a stint as an anchor on Star TV, but she got sidetracked by a role in Grahan with Jackie Shroff and Manisha Koirala, which took years before it was released.
Eventually other films followed like Kya Yehi Pyaar Hai and Vadh.
In November 2006 Anupama Verma was announced as a contestant in Bigg Boss along with Carol Gracias, Rakhi Sawant, Kashmira Shah, Aryan Vaid, Deepak Parashar, Ravi Kissen, Rahul Roy, Salil Ankola (replaced by Deepak Tijori), Rupali Ganguly and Bobby Darling.
Express India reported on Anupama Verma's participation in a Crusade Against Tobacco.
