Jennifer Lawrence's Early life

Jennifer Lawrence was born on 15 August 1990 in Louisville.

Her mother Karen owned a summer camp and her father Gary worked in construction.

She left school at 15 to pursue a career in acting, and after a few small parts, including in Monk, she landed a regular role in the comedy The Bill Engvall Show.

Her Movies

She then acted in various independent movies including The Burning Plain, and Winter’s Bone. The latter of which saw her nominated for a Oscar in 2011 for best actress.

Since then Jennifer Lawrence has acted in the hugely popular X-Men and Hunger Games movies.

Her other films include Silver Linings Playbook, American Hustle, and Joy. All of which were directed by David O. Russell, and, all of which led to her being nominated for Oscars. She won the Oscar in 2013 for Silver Linings Playbook.

In 2015 and in 2016, Forbes ranked her as the highest paid actress.

Personal Life

In the past she has been romantically linked to Nicholas Hoult and Chris Martin.

More recently, Jennifer Lawrence was linked to the director Darren Aronofsky.

In February 2018, she announced that she was taking a year off from acting to work with an organisation trying to get young people engaged politically on a local level.

In 2019 she announced her engagement to Gladstone Gallery director Cooke Maroney.
