Who is Taylor Swift?Taylor Swift was born on December 13, 1989 in Reading Pennsylvania, the daughter of two bankers Scott and Andrea.
She showed an interest in music from an early age, and when she was a teenager, her family moved to Nashville and at just 14 she signed her first deal with a record label.
Taylor Swift's first album, entitled Taylor Swift, was issued in October 2006.
Her subsequent albums include Fearless, Speak Now (which started to move her to a wider appeal from a predominantly country audience), Red (which sold over a million copies in its first week), and 1989, which also reached No1.
As well as selling multi-million records, she has received much critical acclaim, winning numerous Grammys, and in 2015, she collected the best international female solo artist award at the 2015 Brit awards.
In February 2016, Taylor Swift's 1989 won the album of the year award at the Grammys.
She became the first woman to win the award twice. Swift also picked up the best pop vocal album and best music video for her track Bad Blood.
On 1 June 2016, it was reported that Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris had split up after 15 months together.
In July 2016, Taylor Swift topped the Forbes list of the highest paid celebrities with estimated earnings of $170 million, thanks largely to her '1989' world tour.
Around the same time reports started to emerge of a romance between Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston.
In August 2016, Taylor Swift announced that she was donating $1 million to flood relief for the state of Louisiana.
In 2017, Taylor Swift took radio host David Mueller, whose on-air name was Jackson, to court claiming he groped her during her Red tour in 2013.
Mueller had originally sued Swift as he claimed that her remarks led to him being fired.
While Mueller's claim was thrown out, Taylor Swift won her law case against him.
In August 2017, Taylor Swift tweeted that her album would be called Reputation and would be released on 10 November 2017.
In September 2017, her single Look What You Made Me Do (from the album Reputation) gave Taylor Swift her first UK number one.
