Kim Kardashian was born on 21 October 1980 in Los Angeles, the daughter of Robert Kardashian, who was most famous as one of O.J. Simpson's lawyers.
In 1991, Kim Kardashian's mother remarried Olympic gold medallist Bruce Jenner.
One of her sisters is Khloe Kardashian.
Kim Kardashian grew up in the social world of various famous names. Her first boyfriend was Tito Jackson's son, her 14th birthday party was at Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch, and she often partied with Paris Hilton.
As well as being a lawyer, Robert Kardashian was in the music business and Kim Kardashian briefly worked at his company Movie Tunes, before becoming a wardrobe stylist, where her clients included Lindsay Lohan.
Kim Kardashian went on to co-own the boutique, Dash.
From 2000 to 2004, Kim Kardashian was married to R&B producer Damon Thomas.
Many people first became aware of Kim Kardashian, through a leaked homemade 'sex tape' between her and her then boyfriend Ray J.
Since October 2007 Kim Kardashian has been consistently in the public's awareness through the E! reality show Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
At the end of 2007, she did a nude shoot for Playboy. Other contracts included being a model for the Famous Stars and Straps clothing line owned by Travis Barker.
In 2008, Kim Kardashian was cast in the spoof film Disaster Movie.
In series 7 of Dancing with the Stars, Kim Kardashian partnered Mark Ballas.
Kim and Mark were the third couple eliminated from Dancing with the Stars. They were voted off, five years to the day that Kim's father died.
On 28 September 2009, People reported that Kim Kardashian had officially reconciled with Reggie Bush.
However, a later report in People in June 2010, reported that she had split from Reggie Bush, and after briefly being linked to Cristiano Ronaldo, was going out with Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Miles Austin.
In August 2011, Kim Kardashian married basketball player Kris Humphries.
