In July 2002, Kate Lawler became the first woman to win Channel 4's Big Brother. She polled 3,106,077 votes - almost 900,000 more than Jonny, who came second.

In May 2005, Kate Lawler came second in a poll to find Big Brother's most popular contestant. Brian Dowling won.

At one stage she co-hosted Rise with Iain Lee. It was Channel 4's successor to The Big Breakfast, however the show was canned after Channel 4 decided it was failing to grow a sufficient audience.

In April 2005, Kate Lawler was one of the participants in ITV's ill-fated series, Celebrity Wrestling, along with the likes of Annabel Croft, Michelle Heaton, and Leilani Dowding.

She has increasingly turned towards DJ-ing, although she remains most interested in a long-term broadcasting career.
