Kay Russell's Biography

Kay Russell was born in Wyke Regis, Weymouth and went to school in Dorchester.

When she left school, she started riding and training horses.

She went on to run her own horse feed company Equiplus selling mainly to the Middle East, and another specialising in riding clothing and equipment.

She then sold a product called ‘Equi-N-icE’, a re-usable ice pack for horses, having discovered the idea in the USA.

When she found out that owners were using the product on themselves, she came up with a human version, Physicool, which she launched at the 2007 London Marathon.

Kay Russell appeared on Dragons' Den on 26 August 2009 and was offered a £100,000 investment from Deborah Meaden for a 30 per cent stake.

In July 2013, she met Ricky Groves at a Lord’s Taverners charity event and the two started going out.

Kay and Ricky later married and appeared on television winning Celebrity Come Dine With Me.
