Ricky Groves and EastEnders

Ricky Groves is famous for playing Garry Hobbs in EastEnders. His first appearance in EastEnders was on 11 September 2000 and it was not until 2009 that he and Kara Tointon who played his on-screen lover Dawn Swann, were written out of EastEnders.

Early Life including being a Chef

Ricky Groves was born in London in 1968. In 1997 he joined the Poor School where he trained in acting, graduating in 1999.

Previously, he had been a chef for 15 years including a stint at Raymond Blanc's highly rated Le Manoir aux Quat' Saisons.

Ricky Groves' other acting credits include Burnside and London's Burning.

Personal Life and Other TV Appearances

In September 2006 Ricky Groves married EastEnders actress Hannah Waterman in a country church on Dartmoor, however they broke up in January 2010.

He enjoys golf and fishing and supports Leyton Orient. In 2005 he ran the London Marathon.

In 2009 Ricky Groves partnered Erin Boag in Strictly Come Dancing.

Ricky and Erin were voted off in week 10.

In 2010, Ricky Groves was partnered with Alex Ferns in Celebrity Coach Trip.

On New Year's Eve 2015, he and his second wife Kay Russell won Celebrity Come Dine With Me.

Kay Russell had previously been seen on TV as an entrepreneur going into Dragons' Den.
