Who is Professor Green?

Professor Green, whose real name is Stephen Manderson, was born in London on 27 November 1983.

His parents split up soon after he was born. and he was brought up on the Northwold estate in Hackney, by his maternal grandmother Patricia and maternal great grandmother Edie.

He last saw his father alive on his 18th birthday. His father committed suicide six year later. Professor Green made a documentary for BBC Three in October 2015, entitled Professor Green: Suicide and me.

Also, one of his hit songs Read All About It concerned his father's death.

Professor Green's albums include Alive Till I'm Dead, At Your Inconvenience, and Growing Up In Public.

His famous tracks include Need You Tonight and Just Be Good To Green.

Professor Green has written an autobiography entitled Lucky.

In September 2013, he married Millie Mackintosh. However, they announced in February 2016 that they were breaking up.

In 2016 he became a co host with Mel B of Channel Five's Lip Sync Battle (UK).

In February 2016, he presented Professor Green: Hidden and Homeless on BBC Three.

Later in the same year, Professor Green became one of the celebrities on the ITV show Drive.

In November 2016, the BBC announced that it had commissioned two new documentaries with the working titles Professor Green: The Truth About Weed and Professor Green: Living In Poverty for BBC Three.

In February 2019, Professor Green fractured vertebrae in his neck after suffering three seizures, which led to a fall.
