Rula Lenska is of Polish descent and was born in Cambridgeshire on 30 September 1947 as Roza-Marie Leopoldnya Lubienska, but when she went to drama school they told her to shorten her name.

Rula Lenska, who was the third person to be evicted from Celebrity Big Brother in 2006, inherited the title of Countess.

She came to prominence when she played Q or Nancy Cunard de Longchamps in Rock Follies - a drama series about a female rock band.

She has had many credits before and since including an appearance in Minder, which starred her second husband, Dennis Waterman, and a role in EastEnders, where she played Frank Butcher's girlfriend, Krystal.

Rula Lenska married Dennis Waterman in 1987 but they divorced in 1998.

Rula is a keen conservationist and describes herself as passionate, romantic and slightly eccentric.

Rula Lenska is also a Buddhist.

At the ShockWaves NME Awards Shows 2006 in February Rula Lenska made a surprise appearance going on stage to join Maggot and Goldie Lookin Chain.

Subsequently, Rula Lenska was cast as Claudia Colby in Coronation Street.

In 2017, together with Johnny Ball, Ian Lavender, Judith Chalmers and Diana Moran she appeared on Channel Five's A Celebrity Taste of Italy.
